The Project Management Institute (PMI) has recently revealed that there are going to be changed in the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. The change will start on 1st July 2020 and before this date, the pattern will be the same. This new exam will be bigger:

This means that 70% of the exam will focus on Domain II which is the process and the remaining will focus on the other remaining domains (people and business environment).

Agile will be a must:

The new pattern depicts that half of the questions in the exam will be about agile and hybrid approaches. This means that one must focus on these two areas greatly

The new exam will be much harder:

The new exam will be harder because so many new topics and areas will be covered. This means that passing the exam on the new pattern will be much harder as well. So a person must prepare accordingly.

35 contact hours are a minimum requirement:

As PMI requires for a person to verify at least 35 contact hours of specific instructions which address the learning objective in project management. This means that now the exam contains about twice as much content so one should prepare himself that an in-depth exam prep course will take a lot of time and efforts.
