The new concept of remote learning is beginning to revolutionize the education sector but the challenge has always been how to verify the identity of a person taking a course to ensure that there is no cheating. However, to solve this drawback, edX offers a pilot program that provides learners who successfully complete their courses with verified certificates of achievement. The certificate allows students to verify their identity before they can earn a certificate for the course. This helps to assure employers and other institutions that the holder of the certificate has successfully completed the online course.

A sample XSeries Program Certificate (as displayed on edX) is as follows:

Learners can also enroll for the XSeries Programs that are created by some of the best universities as well as world-renowned experts. The programs consist of several courses that seek to explore a particular subject in great depth. After passing each an an every course in the series, learners will earn an XSeries certificate containing the logo of the awarding institution. To enroll in an XSeries program, select the individual course under the XSeries as well as the Verified Certificate option and enroll.

The programs consist of challenging and high-level courses that are taught by expert professors from top universities that include Harvard, Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and many more. The enrollment process is also easy enabling learners from all over the world to start learning online. Some of the most popular courses under this program include:
