The role of a scrum master is to act as a servant leader or coach for an agile team. Being a scrum master it is your primary responsibility to assist your team. With that, not only you have to manage and organize them properly but also make sure to achieve all the goals timely.
Nobody said this job would be easy. There will be several events where you are going to face a lot of problems while getting things done. Some of the main or biggest problems that every scrum master has to face are.
The role of a scrum master as we speak is to act as a facilitator. On the other hand, a project manager has to help manage the project timeline, resources, and meet all the business requirements. In a scrum project, a scrum master has to conduct daily stand up calls and make sure everything is going as planned. That is why it is highly unlikely that you’ll find your scrum master as one of the development team members. However, there isn’t any hard and fast rule that a scrum master can never be a developer because it can happen but rarely.
The following are the basic steps towards becoming a certified scrum master.
Step 1: Learn all about scrum and complete all the pre-requisites for attending a CSM course.
Step 2: Next, you need to attend an in-person CSM course that has to have been taught by a Certified Scrum Trainer.
Step 3: Lastly, you need to take the exam and pass it by answering at least 37 out of 50 questions right.
As the scrum master has to act as an administrator, a coach and a leader to make the scrum development possible. This means that you are definitely going to have to spend your days facilitating the daily sprint. You will be helping your team maintaining the burndown chart, interacting with them all day long making sure they’re on the right track.
