This course catches our attention just as we are about to finish the list. A fantastic course that incorporates all of the topics covered in a full-year, two-semester General Chemistry course. You’ll be learning via a FREE online textbook “Concept Creation Studies in Chemistry”. This book is only available through Rice’s Connexions project. The basic concepts in the course would be taught using Rice University’s Concept Development Approach. Instead of just simply telling you the concepts and then requiring you to memorize or implement them, you can understand the concepts you want to know through experimental results and valid logic in this approach.

The instructor grabs your attention by giving his 3 big reasons to take the course. Anyone with no previous chemistry experience is welcome to attend the workshop. However, since the basic elements discussed in this course are of a little background, some previous experience with the basics of general chemistry is favored. A previous high school chemistry class, for example, will be beneficial.

The only purpose of taking this class was revising my concepts for the MCAT and I can say I really liked the concept development approach. (Rhiannon A, ★★★★★)
