Real Learner’s Reviews:

EIT Food Course: Sustainable Food Production

  • The format of the course was easy and it introduced concepts with great explanations.
  • This course has interesting stuff but it was a bit long. In other words, the duration could have been short.
  • The wide range of topics was good and I really enjoyed the use of case studies in the course.
  • The level of content was right for me as it gave me a lot of basic information I needed, and then the course went deeper. Also, I liked how reading the provided papers helped me learn more in-depth.
  • This was an excellent course that had appropriate content. It helped me explore and gain new concepts.
  • Yes, the course was interesting to learn from but the instructors used a significant amount of technical language in the course that made it quite difficult for me to understand.
  • The course offers plenty of information but some of the livestock section was contentious. The level was right and the presentation was also good. Some of the quiz questions were a bit silly.

University of Leeds: Food  Science & Nutrition

  • The course was good and started with the supply chain and then demonstrated the chain through podcasts, articles, videoed food sampling interviews, and more. The exercises were quite interactive as they tested our understanding. The video interview with food technologists was also quite helpful.
  • This is an excellent course that was also informative. The majority of the material was new to me but there were some topics (digestive system) that I already knew and thus were a good refresher. The course offers general content rather than detailed academic information. It also helped me understand how I can look at labels on goods more deeply. Overall I am happy with this course and can recommend it to all those interested.
  • This is a really interesting course that helped me understand how it is grown, manufactured, and then digested by our bodies.
  • Yes, there was a lot of content in the course that was useful but there were quite complex terminologies involved that made the process quite tedious and boring to follow. Also, there were too many exercises included.
  • Although the course was informative and interesting as well; there were many links in the course that didn’t work. Also, the course was missing feedback from the instructor.
